Spring Forward Into Fun!
Winter may not be completely finished with us yet, but signs are everywhere that Spring is surely on the way! Robins are everywhere, green sprouts are pushing up through the soil, and a few brave flowers have started to bloom. We’ll spring the clock forward an hour and have an extra hour of daylight after work. Time to do yard work soon. Oh, goody.
Besides the aforementioned signals from Mother Nature that spring is coming, another sure sign is that the Culpeper events calendar is starting to fill up. Check it out at www.visitculpeperva.com. Community Concert Association: Brass Roots Trio:Friday, March 7, 2008 at 7:30 pm at Culpeper County High School, 14240 Achievement Drive.
Blending the classical chamber music genre with contemporary American styles, plus the added bonus of a brilliant tenor voice, the Trio takes a musical trek through classical, baroque, jazz, ragtime, folk and gospel styles and makes three instruments sound like a small orchestra! National Capitol Squadron Open Hangar Day:Saturday, March 8, 2008 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Culpeper Regional Airport

Formed in 1957, the Commemorative Air Force is dedicated to preserving the history of American military aviation. Members of the National Capitol Squadron based at the Culpeper Regional Airport welcome visitors the second Saturday of every month. Visit the hangar/museum building equipped for the maintenance and display of a fleet of aircraft known as the Ghost Squadron. The NCS Now Has a Total of Six Aircraft Assigned or Associated with the Unit - Our assigned L-5 and BT-13, and a T-6G, deHavilland Chipmunk, YAK-3, and L-4 Owned and Operated by Squadron Members!

Graffiti House Lecture Series / The Music of the Civil War:Sunday, March 30, 2008 from 2:00-3:15pm at the Graffiti House, 19484 Brandy Road, Brandy Station, VA 22714
An outstanding Sunday lecture series has been organized for 2008! This year's series starts with an encore presentation of "The Music of the Civil War" performed by Evergreen Shade (John Tole and Anne Howard). Enjoy old favorites like Dixie, Battle Cry of Freedom, the Bonny Blue Flag, Just Before the Battle, Mother, and The Empty Chair. John and Anne will wear period dress and talk about the origins and meaning of the music. Guitar, banjo and percussion instruments accompany their songs. It should be noted that when John and Anne last performed in 2006, they set the attendance record at the Graffiti House!! A tax deductible donation of $5 for adults is suggested.
