Singing For Their Suppers (Broadway and Belching)

Let’s have some fun.    Suppose each presidential candidate makes a quick social visit to your home.   What food would you feed them, and what songs from Broadway musicals would you picture them singing?

Here is my take on each candidate:

HILLARY CLINTONCold Zucchini Soup With Lemon served with crabmeat on crackers.   “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better.”  (Annie Get Your Gun) and *“Why Can’t You Behave?” (Kiss Me Kate).

*This stated, we cannot leave out BILL.   He is waiting in the wings with baited breath, so let’s feed him Stuffed Po’Boy Catfish Sandwiches.   Rev up the music with “There is Nothing Like a Dame.”  (South Pacific) and “What I Did For Love.” (A Chorus Line).   Of course, there is always “As Long As She Needs Me” (Oliver).

BARRACK OBAMABlack and White Bean Chili with a side salad.   “I Hope I Get It” (A Chorus Line), and “I Can’t Wait To Be King(Lion King).

JOHN EDWARDSSouth Carolinian Chicken Stew served with cornbread.   “Hair” (Hair), and Maybe This Time” (Cabaret).

JOHN McCAINChicken Tortilla Fried Bean Muster Soup served with true blue American Apple Wafflers.   “Tomorrow Belongs to Me” (Cabaret), “Don’t Tell Mama” and “If I Were a Rich Man” (Fiddler on the Roof).

MITT ROMNEYSwiss (Bank Account) Steak served with greens.  “We’re in the Money” (42nd Street), and “I’m An Ordinary Man” (My Fair Lady).

MIKE HUCKABEEShepherd’s Pie served with corn fritters.  “Miracle of Miracles” (Fiddler on the Roof) and “Old Deuteronomy” (Cats).

RUDY GIULIANI… (Three Times) Italian Wedding Soup served with humble pie.   “Getting to Know You,” (The King and I), and “The Lonely Goatherd” (The Sound of Music).

Let's not forget the whine and cheese for all of them!

Until next time,

Pam
