Junior bike members climbing the ranks
The Bike Stop Pro Team (BSPT) has had a great month of members entering into challenging races with Pro athletes and top amateurs.
Kicking it off, female triathlete--Alex Forte--competed in the Charlottesville Sprint Triathlon held at Walnut Creek Park on June 20. Forte finished the 450 meter swim, 16 mile bike, and 3 mile run in an overall time of 1:23, placing 2nd overall out of almost 100 women.
The following week, a pack of BSPT male roadies--Brian Marsh, Daniel Austin, and Jacob Aber--made the trip out to Bryant Park in Richmond on June 23-25 for the Kazane Racing "Working Man's Classic Series" for back-to-back days of road racing. The next weekend, junior members--Daniel Austin and Jacob Aber--took to the road again in the Smithfield Hammer Fest 2-Man Team Time Trial on June 27, finishing 3rd overall in their category. Brian Marsh then closed out the weekend with a 4th place finish in his division at the Camp Hilbert Mountain Bike Race Series #2 on June 28 in Maidens, VA. Marsh again stood out in the top 10 of his division, finishing 7th at the recent "Wednesdays at Wakefield" Series mountain bike race on July 8 in Annandale, VA. That same weekend, junior roadie--Jacob Aber--got back out on the road and finished 22nd in the challenging Greenbelt Park Training Race Series in Greenbelt, MD. To put the icing on the cake, Aber raised the bar this past weekend on July 10-12 at The Piedmont Triad Omnium in Lexington, N.C., placing 2nd overall in his division at the series (5th in the time trial, 1st in the sprints, and 7th in the road race).
