Soccer program looking for players

The FCSC Girls High School Academy program is still looking for players; interested in competitive ball, dedicated to improving skill level and knowledge of the game. We have openings for a Keeper and 3 to 4 field players. Open to all high school age girls. Parks and rec center needs participants

Culpeper County Parks and Recreations Department is looking for those interested in participating in one of the following programs: Mens 45 & over basketball; Womens basketball programs held at Yowell Elementary School, one evening per week; and retiree pick up fall softball, age 55 and older with program held at the Culpeper Sports Complex. Activities starting date would be Oct. 12 and continue for ten weeks. Fee will be based on the amount of participants registered. Interested individuals may contact the office at 727-3412 or visit the parks and recreation office at 155 W. Davis Street, Suite #100.

All-Star soccer tryouts

The Culpeper Soccer Association will be hosting All-Star Tryouts September 26 and 27 at the Culpeper Sports Complex. The tryout times are as follows:
U10 girls: 2-2:45
U10 boys: 3-3:45pm
U12 girls: 4-4:45
U12 boys: 5-5:45pm

All U10 and U12 players are encouraged to participate in the tryouts!

Knights of Columbus soccer challenge

All boys and girls, ages 10-14 are invited to participate in the local level competition for the 2009 Knights of Columbus Soccer challenge, sponsored by Council 6328. The event will be held Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the Culpeper County Sports Complex. Each participant will be given 15 penalty kicks to hit five target areas with differing point values. The goal is to accumulate the post points and accuracy counts. Winners will progress through local district and state competitions. International champions are announced by the K of C international headquarters in New Haven, CT. Proof of age and written parental consent required. Participation is free. Pre-registration is recommended but same day registrations is accepted. For entry forms or additional information, contact: Craig Laws at 540-829-1190.
