Culpeper Cycling Century held Saturday

The Culpeper County Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the Second Annual Culpeper Cycling Century bicycle ride on Saturday, October 3.

The ride will begin at 8:30 a.m. at The Bike Stop on West Culpeper Street in downtown Culpeper. There will be clearly marked routes of 21, 65, and 101 miles through Culpeper, Madison, and Rappahannock Counties. The 21 mile ride is easy and the 65 and 101 mile rides are moderate in difficulty. The rides will be fully supported with rest stops and SAG vehicle assistance. The first 250 riders will receive a commemorative T-Shirt.

Bicycle helmets are required of all riders.

The ride will benefit the Culpeper Recreation Foundation, Inc., which is a non-profit corporation organized to promote recreation in Culpeper County.

The goal is to build concession stands and restrooms at the Culpeper Sports Complex on Greens Corner Road next to Eastern View High School.

The ride will cost $55.00. Registration forms can be obtained from the Culpeper County Department of Parks and Recreation at 155 West Davis Street or on-line at www.culpepercyclingcentury.com.
