• Food Closet "Need of the Week." The following items are needed: anything except green beans and cereal. Their shelves are bare. They continue to need plastic bags. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday at St. Stephens Episcopal Church. Phone 825-1177.
• Blue Ridge Chorale is recruiting male singers for the fall season. They rehearse Monday evenings at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Culpeper. Call (540) 948-4573 for more information.
It's also time to register children for their Music Workshop for Youth (ages 7-14). Will meet in Culpeper from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Thursday, June 29 to July 29, with a concert at 7 p.m. July 29. Pre-registration required, family rate available. • 4-H summer camps offered by Virginia Cooperative Extension started June 28 and conclude July 27. Activities are for ages 5 to 18. Some are free, and the most expensive is only $15. Activities include a fishing workshop, handcrafted beauty and skin care items, a quilting workshop, bike rodeo, wearable art, "The Princess and the Frog," soap making, recipes for ages 5-8, preserving fruits and vegetables, and model rocketry. Locations vary, but all are in Culpeper or nearby locations.
Workshops fill early, so don't delay.
The Culpeper Extension Office is at 101 South West Street and is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

• 'Camp Med,' Culpeper Regional Hospital's Healthcare Career Camp for rising eighth and ninth graders. Go behind the scenes at CRH and learn about everything from ambulance to X-ray.
Dates: July 26-30, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Free, thanks in part to VHHA grant funding.

Registration for Culpeper County Library's Summer Reading Programs continues. Visit the library to sign up. This program is free of charge. Children get colorful bags and book marks just for signing up, and win plush sea animals, an ice cream or skating party, and more just for reading. Teens get the chance to win an iPod Nano 8 GB just by reading 24 hours by Aug. 2. Registration is ongoing. The program ends Aug. 2.
Friday Walk-in Story Time is every Friday at 10:30 a.m. This program is for children of all ages and their caregivers. Stories, songs, activities and more. No Registration necessary.
Bedtime Story Times are Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. These family-oriented programs feature stories, rhymes, songs, and activities. Children are encouraged to attend in their pajamas and to bring a favorite stuffed animal. No Registration necessary.
Free stories for kids. Listen to DIAL-A-STORY at 825-0555 to hear a great story. Stories change every week and feature some seasonal selections.
Read along with Tumblebooks at www.cclva.org on a computer at home or at the library. Click on "TumbleBooks" for stories in English and other languages, puzzles and games.
• Bingo every Tuesday. Reva Volunteer Fire and Rescue has bingo every Tuesday at 18230 Birmington Road, Culpeper, in a smoke-free hall. Doors open at 5 p.m. Dinner sales start at 5:30 p.m. Early bird starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by regular bingo at 7 p.m. : (540) 825-7555.

• Spiritual Care Support Ministry
Chronically Ill Support Groups are weekly opportunities for those who are chronically ill to come together. Mondays from 11 a.m. to noon at the SCSM Culpeper Satellite Office.
The SCSM Culpeper Satellite Office is open every Monday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., providing support, education, and a Biblical perspective to those who are ill, dying, grieving and experiencing personal loss, and to those who journey with them. Individual counseling is available. It is non-denominational. All services are free.

Registration for summer Activities began May 28. Swimming lessons are still available.
