• Food Closet "Need of the Week." The following items are needed: canned pasta, canned vegetable soups and canned meat. Also, their 4-foot chest freezer has a bowed top and does not seal. They could use a chest freezer in good shape, or if someone knows a way to repair this one, that would also work. Call the Food Closet (825-1177) and leave a message.. They continue to need plastic bags.

Registration for Culpeper County Library's Summer Reading Programs continues. Visit the library to sign up. This program is free. Children get colorful bags and bookmarks just for signing up, and win plush sea animals, an ice cream or skating party, and more -- just for reading. Teens get the chance to win an iPod Nano 8 GB just by reading 24 hours by Aug. 2, the end of the program.
Jonathan Austin Emergency Magic and Juggling will be Thursday, July 22, at 10:30 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Another special Summer Reading program. Solid objects disappear and slice through each other, coins multiply, kings turn to jacks and more! Thank you to the Friends of the Culpeper County Library for underwriting the cost of this performance, and to Culpeper's Comfort Inn for providing free rooms for the performers.
