CULPEPER IN BRIEF
Warner staff
in town Aug. 3
Representatives from Sen. Mark Warner's office will be traveling around the commonwealth to meet with individual Virginians who have specific issues dealing with federal agencies.
They will be at the Culpeper County Library, 271 Southgate Shopping Center, 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3.

Hunter education
course planned
Register now for a hunter education course being held in Culpeper County in late August.
The course is open to everyone and is free of charge, but preregistration is required.
The 15-hour course will include seven hours of classroom instruction, four hours of field demonstrations and exercises, and four hours of shotgun live fire instruction.
Classes are 6-9:30 p.m. Aug. 24 and 26, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 28.
It is offered as a public service by Cedar Mountain Youths Inc., in cooperation with the Virginia Department of Game & Inland Fisheries.

parenting class
The Parenting Cooperative Program offers parents and caregivers "Positive Parenting," research-based methods and techniques to strengthen parent-child relations, prevent risky youth behaviors, and to teach youth respect, responsibility and other pro-social behaviors for ages 4-12.
The class will be held at Reformation Lutheran Church, Culpeper. Dates and times are as follows: Aug. 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, 28 (6-8 p.m. Thursdays, 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays).

The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking input from constituents, stakeholders and agency partners to develop their next Strategic Plan. Visit their website, www.culpeper.vaswcd.org, and click on the tab for Strategic Planning. There are links to several supporting documents and a link to a brief six-question survey on Survey Monkey. Public input is greatly appreciated.
The district serves the counties of Culpeper, Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock.
