Marshall Business to Build Mobile Mooring Mast for the World's Largest Non-rigid Airship

CT&D of Marshall, VA recently signed a contract to build a mobile mooring mast for an airship being built by defense contractor, MAV6 of Alexandria Virginia.
"The mast will anchor and provide on-site mobility to the 370 foot long airship," commented Jeff Symanski, owner of CT&D. "We are engineering, designing and fabricating the system. A mobile mooring mast of this size has not been built since the 1950s." The airship will be used as an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platform at a fraction of the cost of fixed wing UAVs like the Predator.
Other services offered by CT&D include welding and repair of: hydraulic cylinders, heavy equipment, asphalt rollers, and more. They also rebuild gear boxes and pumps, and can manufacture custom hoppers and conveyors as well as shafts, gears and bushings.

CT&D also specializes in architectural metalwork with aluminum, stainless and copper and offers custom blacksmithing and decorative ironwork.

For more than 25 years, CT&D has satisfied the exacting demands of the construction industry, power plants, stone quarries and defense contracting, to name a few. With 5,000 square feet of manufacturing space, CT&D can respond quickly to satisfy customers’ needs. In addition, the company offers on-site consultation, pick-up and delivery services.
CT&D is located 1.5 miles off Route 66 in Marshall, Virginia. For more information visit www.commercialtoolanddie.com or call 540-364-3922
