Betty Jane Stanley, 79, of Culpeper died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at Culpeper Regional Hospital. She was born Sept. 18, 1928 in South Clinchfield, Va. to the late Toby Howard Hall and Violet Edna Counts Hall.
Betty was an avid bingo player and loved playing cards. She enjoyed volleyball, dancing, horseshoes and listening to music. Above all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Atler Branson Stanley; her children, Raymond Allen Stanley and his wife, Linda of Culpeper, Stuart Atler Stanley and his wife, Dina of Warrenton, Edna Jane Lindemann and her husband, Richard of Culpeper, and her sister, Willie “Wibb” Ball.
Additional survivors include seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Violet “Polly” Travis, Charlie Hall, Raymond Hall, Vernie Kiser, Sylvia “Snooks” White, and Geraldine “Jerry” Counts.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 23, 2008 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Tony Martin and Rev. Billy Curry officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her five grandsons and close friend, Dennis Dellinger.
